Who we are

Bilingual lawyers for international clients on the Costa del Sol.

Llucia & Asociados Abogados was built around one core belief: British and international clients living in, buying in, or inheriting property in Spain deserve lawyers who work properly in their own language — not translators, not intermediaries, but lawyers who understand both the legal system and the language from the inside.

Our clients are British, Irish and international families buying homes or retiring to the Costa del Sol; owners navigating Spanish inheritance and probate after bereavement; expats establishing residency after Brexit; and businesses setting up operations in Spain. We handle the complexity so they do not have to.

Genuinely bilingual

English and Spanish — not supplemented by a translator but spoken and written by your own lawyers, fluently and professionally, every day.

One lawyer, start to finish

Your named lawyer stays on your file from first consultation to final completion. No junior handovers, no unexplained reassignments.

Specialist in UK-to-Spain transactions

We understand the specific concerns of British buyers and expats — from post-Brexit residency to cross-border inheritance — and how to protect your position.

Reachable and transparent

Straightforward fee quotes in writing before any work begins. Clear, prompt communication — email, phone or video — at every stage of your matter.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. At Llucia & Asociados every lawyer works bilingually in English and Spanish. You will never need a translator — your contracts, correspondence and advice are handled in your own language, by your own lawyer.

Yes — and most of our British clients work with us this way. With a power of attorney, we can manage the entire process on your behalf: due diligence, reservation, NIE, notary completion, Land Registry and post-completion tax filings. We update you at each stage by email or video call.

Yes — this is one of our most requested areas. We guide British beneficiaries through the entire Spanish probate process: identification and valuation of assets, inheritance-tax calculation and payment within the statutory six-month window, and transfer of property into the beneficiaries' names.

Nothing. The first call or video meeting is free of charge. We listen to your situation, advise on whether we can help, and give you a clear written quote before any chargeable work begins.

Not necessarily. With a power of attorney we can attend the notary, register the title and file the taxes on your behalf. Many clients do choose to be present for the notary signing — but it is not a requirement, and we can make the process work entirely remotely if preferred.
